The UNDP Regional Service Centre for Latin America and the Caribbean (RSC-LAC) conceives knowledge management as the integrating element of service provision towards country offices and regional programs. This integration role is evidenced in the technical and methodological support for developing conceptual frameworks in strategic thematic areas, systematizing and disseminating best practices, developing policy assistance tools, implementing programs and developing capacities.

The Knowledge Management Unit (KMU) of RCS-LAC provides through its services of systematization, exchange, adaptation and transfer of practical knowledge on development issues provides technical and methodological assistance to UNS country offices, agencies, funds, programs and other partners to achieve these objectives.
