Who's Who on Our Team - Newsletter July 2009 UNDP works in 166 countries helping to develop their capacities to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Capacity refers to the ability of individuals, organizations and societies to perform tasks, solve problems and set and achieve goals in a sustainable way. Capacity Development, for its part, is the process through which skills are acquired, strengthened, adapted and maintained over time.
