The Thematic Cluster on Poverty, Human Development and MDG's is part of The Regional Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean (RBLAC) of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). This Thematic Cluster has as main objectives the following:

• To be a world-class knowledge support in the area of economics for regional strategy and Country Offices (COs)
• To establish a conceptual perspective on policy priorities for the Region and become a useful and visible reference on such issues
• To facilitate the transmission of best-practices in order to solve specific policy questions asked by the RBLAC Directorate and COs
• To set up dissemination schemes for public policy-relevant research, in ways that are accessible and timely for the RBLAC and CO’s operational concerns.
• The general objectives mentioned above will be pursued through specific projects and actions like the ones that are being carried out at this moment.
