The Regional Centre seeks to foster virtual forums among UNDP staff, partners, and associated experts, as an online space for encounter and reflection on various work areas to facilitate the construction of development strategies within the region.
This proposal comes from past UNDP experiences carried out within other offices. These useful practices have led us to replicate this type of dialogue as a way to unite and connect people interested in the issues we face, not only at country level but also at regional level, with the objective to deepen and enrich knowledge networks discussion.
A forum is a virtual scene of Internet communication, that foments discussion and consensus of ideas. It is a tool that allows a user to post a message at any time remaining visible for others who may join later, to reflect and respond. The forums can keep constant communication with people who are far away, without needing to agree on meeting times over the network, thereby overcoming the time constraints of the communication and promoting a better attention and introspection of the messages. Participants in a forum are gathered by the common interest of a theme, an activity, a goal or a project creating this way, different arguments and conclusions useful to all.
